More and more, Human Resource, Organizational Development, and Training and
Development professionals need to stay current on trends impacting the organization in
their respective areas. The Internet can be a great tool in this regard, when combined
with some old-fashioned research methods. Here’s one alternative to use get a handle
on current trends.
- Build a library of links to important on line resources.
Use your browser’s bookmark or favorites feature as appropriate to organize these in
a folder.
- Periodically access each and list current hot topics from
each issue.
- Take these topics and categorize them into key
themes—workforce trends, change management, information technology, etc.
- Summarize articles into short blurbs containing key
points and potential action items for your organization.
